The Space Potential Action Network is a grassroots, youth-led, nonprofit organization that empowers our generation to lead the charge in achieving our collective human potential in outer space through scientific research, public education, and advocacy.

Did you know that the future of life on Earth is tied to the future of life in outer space? As we work together for a sustainable future on this planet, we need to imagine a future that leverages the possibilities for humanity in outer space. This can be through human travel, space colonization, accessing natural resources, and other solutions to benefit humans here on Earth and beyond.

SPAN works on this mission through the research, education and advocacy projects discussed below.

Space Potential Challenge

The Space Potential Challenge is simple, and you can make a difference by taking the Challenge now so that you can join our team and take on your own mission to achieve our collective potential in space. Do you want to take on Space Education and Research? Peace and Sustainability? There are as many challenges to solve as there are young people to solve them!

Legislative Watch

SPAN tracks legislation action that impacts our future in outer space, at the federal level, as well as at the local, state and international levels. This includes tracking regulatory action and rule-making. In doing so, SPAN engages in advocacy outreach to lawmakers and regulators to advance the Space Potential agenda.

Space Studies
Tracker

Keeping track of research in space studies is an important part of understanding the potential in this field. Space studies is an interdisciplinary field involving not only STEM but also the social sciences and humanities, including law, politics, economics, social ethics, and international relations. We study the research to understand not only the exciting pace of scientific advancement but also the larger human social context in which these developments are unfolding.

Social Media Influence

SPAN leverages the vast social media presence and know-how of the youth generation to get the word out about Space Potential. Today's teenagers communicate and amplify each other's voices through the power of social media, and SPAN encourages youth to take action through their social media.

Policy White Papers

As part of our advocacy efforts, we analyze policy issues and publish white papers. We use these as part of our legislative outreach to lawmakers and regulators, and we also make available them for education efforts to promote public awareness.

Hashtag Campaigns

SPAN leverages the social media savvy of the teen generation through hashtag campaigns. We do this through advocacy for specific legislation, along with our #spacepotential and #spaceyouth campaigns.
